1. Who we are

The LIT (Limburg Immersive Technologies) Network — a strategic partnership between Maastricht University and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences — is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, contact us at info@litnetwork.nl.

2. What we collect

We only collect data you give us directly, through two forms on this site:

• Contact form — your name, email address, organisation (optional), and message.
• Newsletter signup — your email address only.

We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, so we don't collect browsing behaviour, device fingerprints, or any data beyond what you type into these two forms.

3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis

• Contact form messages are processed to respond to your enquiry — our legitimate interest in answering questions people send us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Newsletter subscriptions are processed only with your explicit, opt-in consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given when you submit your email address into the newsletter field. You can withdraw that consent at any time — see Section 6.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties. Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database — Cloudflare hosts this site and acts purely as a data processor (it stores the data on our instruction; it doesn't use it for its own purposes). No other service receives your form data.

5. How long we keep it

Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe (Section 6) — there is currently no bulk marketing email being sent from this list; addresses are simply held for when that starts. Contact form messages are kept so we can maintain a record of correspondence; if you'd like an old message deleted, email us and we'll remove it.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you — email us and we'll send it to you.
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Erase your data — for newsletter subscribers, use our self-service unsubscribe page to remove your email immediately; for contact-form messages, email us.
• Withdraw consent for the newsletter at any time, with no effect on any other interaction with LIT Network.
• Object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

7. Security

The site is served entirely over HTTPS with HSTS enforced. Form submissions include automated spam/bot filtering (a honeypot field and a minimum-time-on-page check) before anything is stored. We don't collect passwords, payment details, or any special category data through this site.

8. Cookies

This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind. We don't run a cookie consent banner because there is currently nothing to consent to — if that ever changes, this policy and the site will be updated accordingly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
